Why Gmail's built-in editor falls short

Gmail's signature box is a plain text field. Getting a logo, a photo and neatly aligned social icons to look right means wrestling with copy-paste, and the formatting often breaks the moment you send. ProSignature skips all of that — it builds the signature and installs it for you.

Install it in one click

Instead of copying HTML and hoping it survives, ProSignature connects to Gmail and writes the signature directly into your account settings. It appears on new emails automatically — on desktop and the mobile app.

  1. Build your signature in the generator.
  2. Choose Install → Gmail and authorize once.
  3. ProSignature saves it into your Gmail settings for you.
  4. Compose a new email and it's already applied.

Prefer to paste it yourself?

You can also copy the finished signature and paste it into Gmail's signature settings manually — ProSignature formats it so it holds together. Either way you end up with a clean, professional result. Setting up a whole company? Use the team plan to deploy signatures across everyone's Gmail at once.

Why Gmail signatures usually go wrong

Three classic failures: pasted signatures lose their formatting (Gmail's editor rewrites messy markup), images break (they must be hosted on public HTTPS, not attached), and the signature silently doesn't apply to replies (a separate default nobody notices). ProSignature sidesteps all three — it puts clean, hosted, inline-styled HTML into every Gmail compose via a no-permission Chrome extension, and can optionally write it into Gmail's signature setting for new mail and replies in one action. And with the free Chrome extension, the signature also appears in every compose window automatically — no Google permission needed.

The one-click install, explained

  1. Design your signature (your brand is auto-imported).
  2. Click Connect Gmail & install — a Google window opens.
  3. Approve one narrow permission (gmail.settings.basic — it can manage settings like your signature, and cannot read your email).
  4. Done — open Gmail, hit Compose, your signature is live. Change designs anytime and reinstall in one click.

More on Gmail signatures

Gmail signature examples shows what actually survives Gmail's rendering and why; multiple accounts and aliases explains why the wrong signature keeps sending when you use send-as addresses; changing an existing signature covers the separate mobile settings; and signature not showing plus broken images handle the two common failures. FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I add a signature with a logo in Gmail?

Design it in ProSignature, then click Install and choose Gmail. ProSignature writes the signature — logo included — straight into your Gmail settings, so you skip Gmail's limited editor entirely.

Does it work with Google Workspace as well as personal Gmail?

Yes — the Gmail signature works with both personal @gmail.com accounts and Google Workspace business accounts. For Workspace teams, admins can roll signatures out across the whole domain.

Will the signature show on the Gmail mobile app?

Because the signature is stored in your Gmail account settings, it applies to new emails on both desktop and the Gmail mobile apps.

Can I add a button or booking link to my Gmail signature?

Yes — a Gmail signature can carry a call-to-action button with your own text, color and link, for example a Calendly booking link or your latest offer.

Is the Google permission safe?

The app requests only gmail.settings.basic — Google's narrow scope for managing settings such as the signature. It cannot read, send or delete your email, and your token stays in your browser.

Will it apply to replies too?

Yes — the install sets your signature for both new emails and replies/forwards, the setting most people miss.
